Team Profile:Waimak AttackIn January 2010 Rick Smith from the iconic Evacut Corporate Team placed an ad for paddlers in a local North Canterbury paper (they were struggling to get a team together for the 09/10 season). Rick had an outstanding response. He took the few he needed for his Evacut Team and then took the rest of us on too as a completely new novice team. Making us Ricks 3rd team for the season. We will be forever grateful to Rick for his commitment to us and for sharing
his love and enthusiasm for this awesome sport. We Rock (and sometimes we roll - and not cause we want too) You won't find a more enthusiastic bunch of Beer swilling Blokes, Tough
Chicks, Youth and old farts just rearing to take to a body of water, than
Waimak Attack. Were green, but were dead keen on learning and you can't
beat that kind of enthusiasm, when it comes to doing the hard yards, rain You won't see the prettiest paddlers on the water - but what we lack in finesse, we sure as hell make up for with a never-say-die attitude - even when the arms, the legs and the bums are hurtin' (so much pain). Watch this space - and if you're really keen - watch Waimak Attack - cause hey, we know there are some cool teams out there and were not too shy to accept a tip or two. Seriously though - we are here to stay and we were not a one-regatta-wonder. Twenty Eleven - Bring it on. Paddlers forever! |
